Yes you did read that correctly ... it does say "his"!
There's a wonderful article up over on the Times Live web site about Fezekile Cokile - the teenager who has just sold his first Mills & Boon style romance novel. It's been published by Kwela Books.

Whoa. 19 and a man. That's so cool.
ReplyDeleteSaw this on twitter but was confused - then went to the article linked in your post and saw that it is a Mills and Boon STYLE novel pubbed by Kwela Books.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to him! And I loved the bit about how he could write about relationships he hadn't experienced. Thankfully we don't have to go through everything our characters go through - we rely on imagination and empathy (and occasionally good research)!
Thanks for pointing that out, Donna. I've amended the wording in Amanda's post to make it clearer that we're not actually talking about a sale to HMB.
ReplyDeleteOops sorry if I confused anyone! I thought I'd put in M&Besque novel! My apologies. I obviously forgot to fit the "esque" onto it! :-) Thanks for fixing it Romy.
ReplyDeleteBut it is awesome that a 19 year old guy can write a romance that's good enough to publish! Can't wait to see what this will lead to in his life.
